"Puttin' On My Crazy"

PuttinOnMyCrazy_edited.jpg

Listen or purchase HERE Six inch stilettos rockin’ that shoe box

For too long

Skin tight tube top stuck in that closet

Puttin’ it on

Fake eyelashes, stick on rhinestones

From the toolbox

Blacklight bracelets, neon lipgloss

Get my glow on

Been mad like a hatter chasin’ after my shadow

That all stops tonight

CHORUS

I’m puttin’ on my crazy

Goin’ out with the ladies

Lettin’ loose, getting’ loud and roudy

Try to make me

Take off my crazy

Bar top dancin’, hoppin’ down Broadway

Get my drink on

Flyin’ bull rides, we’re gettin’ throwed down

At the saloon

Crashin’ bachelorette karaoke

Singin’ off key

Takin’ over someone else’s party

A little tipsy

I’ll be the bride, feathers and a crown

For free drinks all around

CHORUS

We’ll wake up tomorrow

Wonderin’ how we got home

Waitin’ for the weekend

And we all know

CHORUS

We’re puttin’ on our crazy

Goin’ out with the ladies

Lettin’ loose, getting’ loud and roudy

Try to make me

Take off my crazy

Lettin’ loose, getting’ loud and roudy

Try to make me

Take off my crazy

Written by Misha Williams, Alice Lankford & Jimbo Martin © 2014 by Velvet Vine Publishing (BMI) & Happy Planet Publishing (ASCAP) BEHIND THE SONG: Alice, Jimbo and I were up for writing something really fun and catchy, and "Puttin' On My Crazy" is what came out of us in that particular writing session. There are a lot of bachelorette parties that take place on Broadway in Nashville on the weekends, and I had seen quite a few of these take place, and even been involved in one or two in the last few years, so for me, it was really just writing about what I'd seen. A friend of mine started off her bachelorette party on a glow bus, so the brighter & more neon your attire, the better! There's one bar in particular, the Wild Beaver Saloon, that hosts both karaoke and a mechanical bull, as well as hula hoops ...how can you go wrong?! Many of the images in this song came straight out of that, and it's probably a pretty relatable song to many of the party-goers in downtown Nashville...if they remember it the next day.
