"The Best In Me"
Listen to the demo HERE I see the flowers blooming
As you walk by the trees
The birds can’t help but sing a melody
I feel the breeze start grooving
The sun opens its eyes
You make everything around me come alive
CHORUS
You’ve got a laugh
That keeps me coming back for more
You’ve got a smile
That makes mine wider than before
You’ve got a heart
That makes me love down to the core
You always bring out
The best in me (ooh ooh oh oh)
The best in me
The sky’s a little bluer
Aren’t rainbows beautiful
Before you colors seemed a little dull
CHORUS
You’ve got a laugh
That keeps me coming back for more
You’ve got a smile
That makes mine wider than before
You’ve got a heart
That makes me love down to the core
You always bring out
The best in me (ooh ooh oh oh)
The best in me
You bring out, you bring out
The best in me
You bring out, you bring out
The best in me
REPEAT CHORUS
Written by Misha Williams & Chris Dunnett © 2014 by Velvet Vine Publishing BEHIND THE SONG: Chris and I decided we wanted to write a fun, positive, summery song. He started playing the guitar, and the melody practically fell out of me all at once. We thought it could be fun to write something for a TV commercial or background music for a movie, and I remembered a really cute Home Depot commercial that had animated birds building birdhouses that I really loved. For me, the visuals in that commercial inspired the lyrics in this song because I wanted to create my own soundtrack to it, and my secret (now not so secret) dream for this song is for a company like Home Depot to use our song in their next commercial! :) Any takers?!
